TWO DROWNED

KOPUARAHI ACCIDENT FATHER AND SON VICTIMS OTHERS SLIGHTLY INJURED CAR OVERTURNS INTO DRAIN An accident involving the death of a Maori and his infant son, and injuries to two other natives, occurred at Kopuarahi at 6.20 p.m. on Thursday, when the car in which the victims were travelling left the road and travelled some distance to overturn into a large drain, about 300 yards from the ferry. The victims were:— Drowned Tainui Ngaki, aged 50 years. Richard Ngaki, aged five years. Slight head injuries were received by Henry Rhind, aged 22 years, and Eddie Kuta, aged four years. Two other children, Popo Ngaki, aged seven years, and Stella Kuta, were also in the car but were not in-

jured. Those injured were taken to the Thames Hospital by ambulance.
