“Always Be A Miller” “ The song says, ‘There Will Always Be An England,’ and, judging by the large gathering of the Miller clan here to-day, there will always be a Miller,” said the Rev. J. More, in proposing the toast of “The Grandchildren,” at the golden wedding reception to Mr and Mrs J. C. Miller held in Thames on Monday.

Missionary Address The Solomon Islands, which are conspicuously in the headlines at the present time on account of the war in the Pacific, will be the theme of an address to be given at the Methodist ■Church, Paeroa, next Tuesday evening by the Rev. A. H. Voyce, for 16 years a missionary in the British Solomons. Mr Voyce has a thrilling story to tell, featuring the Japanese invasion and native courage and loyalty. A Wonderful Record

In’ replying to the principal toast at the reception to Mr and 1 Mrs Miller of Thames and formerly of Turua on Monday, Mr Miller said that in the small district of Maungakaramea, consisting of about 300 people, no less than six married couples had reared large families and had celebrated their golden wedding. They were: Mr and Mrs John x Miller, Mr and Mrs J. C; Miller, Mr and Mrs O. Child, Mr and Mrs D. O’Carroll, Mr and Mrs J. F. Snell and Mr and' Mrs H. Sweffield. This was indeed an unique record for any part of this Dominion with a similar population.
