LODGE INSTALLATION
COROMANDEL ODDFELLOWS
TWO NEW MEMBERS INITIATED
The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Hauraki Lodge was held in the Lodge Room, Coromandel, on Monday, May 24. The N.G., Bro. V. Powley, presided over a large attendance of members.
A hearty welcome was accorded Sister Hayes, P.G. Bro. H. E. Keyte and Bro. G. Perfect.
Two new members were initiated and the Honours of the Order were 1 conferred on. them.
Bro. Powley reported on his visit to the Royal Remuera Lodge on the occasion of their celebrating their secretary’s election as District Grand Master P.G. Bro. James Gray. Bro. Powley conveyed greetings to and from both lodges.
The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows: — N.G., Sister June Notman; V.G., Sister Melva Keyte; elective secretary, Sister Esma Riiey; warden,
Bro. Lee Perfect; guardian, Bro.
Eric Gamble; conductor, P.G. Sister P. E. Riley re-elected for fourth term; lecture master, P.G. Sister June Deeble.
After the installation of the new-ly-elected officers the Lodge Prayer was read, and the business concluded at 9.15 p.m. when lodge closed and a tasty supper was served by Sisters J. Deeble and J. McLellan. A new social committee was formed during the supper interval, and Sister J. Notman was unanimously re-elected as secretary of the committee.
Dancing and community singing and games took place till midnight.
