APPEALS HEARD
ARMED FORCES BOARD SITTING HELD IN PAEROA DECISIONS GIVEN ON FRIDAY A sitting of the No. 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board was held in .the Courthouse, Paeroa, on Friday, the deputy-chairman, Mr C. W. Paifitc, presiding. Associated with him were Messrs E. J. Wilton, J. J. Poland and the secretary, Mr A. Ripley. Captain P. Williamson represented the Army.
The following appeals were adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in his present employment and continue to serve in the Home Guard. The name of the appellant is given in parentheses: A. C. Vowles, farm manager, Paeroa (A. Vowles). The appeal of H. A. Paul for his farmhand, A. H. Paul, was adjourned pending the result of his reboarding. By the consent of the board the appeal of J. H. J. Johnson for his farmhand, E. R. Johnson, was withrdawn.
The appeal of the Shell Oil Company for its manager, O. A. H. Allison, was adjourned sine die, reservist to continue to serve in the E.P.S. Victoria Bakeries, Ltd., Paeroa, appealed for their foreman baker, W. C. Vedder. Adjourned sine die, reservist to continue to serve in the supply section of the E.P.S. Decision was reserved in the appeal of E. Pedersen, Netherton, for his sharemilker, C. A. Pedersen, as also was the appeal of J. F. Chamberlain, carpenter of Paeroa.
The appeal of E.' J. Pennell against Home Guard service was adjourned sine die, reservist to continue to serve in the E.P.S.
The Ohinemuri County Council and A. E. Thompson were the appellants in the appeal of A. E. Thompson which was adjourned sine die, reservist to continue to serve in the E.P.S.
Grey and Menzies, Ltd., Paeroa, appealed for their manager, J. L. Jones, decision being reserved pending further information..
