A RELIGIOUS THOUGHT
THE MEASURE OF WORTH True values are qualitative, rather than quantitative, though men are apt to measure other men by their money, property, scholarship, fame, social or political standing. What counts for most in the long run is character, which is to be measured not by inch-tape and foot-rule, but by its conformity or otherwise to eternal laws and principles of righteousness, having their being and in God. The highest expression of these principles is found in Jesus Christ, Who came to reveal God to men. The more Christ-like the life and character, the more nearly these approximate to the divine standards and measure up to God’s requirements.
