SURPRISE PARTY

FUNCTION AT WHAREPOA MR & MRS McCOLLUM VISITED A very jolly surprise party was taken to the home of Mr and Mrs McCollum, of Wharepoa, by a number of local residents one evening just prior to their departure for Hikutaia. A splendid time was enjoyed by all present, cards, charades and games being the order of the evening. Supper was served to all present and one and all expressed their repret at Mr and Mrs McCollum leaving Wharepoa where they have resided so long and have been such an asset to the life of that community.

All wished them well in their new surroundings. Present were: Mesdames A. McCollum, E. Bax, W. Brunton, J. Baird, G. Innis, G. Henwood, H. Bax, G. Bax, McManemin (Auckland), Davies and A. Armstrong. Messrs .A. McCollum, E. Bax, W. Brunton, Mcßoberts, Handley (2), G. Innis, G. Henwood, H. Bax, G. Bax, A. Armstrong, J. Baird, Davies. Misses F. Deeble (Thames), B. Dynes (Matatoki), H. Innis, N. McCollum. CHEERIO BRIDGE CLUB Mrs J. Hill entertained' the Cheerio Bridge Club which met at her home on Tuesday evening when Miss R. Dickson won the first prize and Mrs P. Oldham the hidden number.
