COUNCIL’S THANKS
WORK OF MRS C. W. PARFITT APPRECIATION EXPRESSED Appreciation of the assistance rendered to the Hauraki Plains County Council by Mrs C. W. Parfitt, wife of the chairman, was expressed at Wednesday’s meeting.of the council when the clerk was instructed to write to Mrs Parfitt extending the council’s thanks. Mr C. W. Schultz said he would like to express the council’s appreciation to Mrs Parfitt for the sacrifice she made on behalf of the council. He instanced the amount of phone calls she had to take on behalf of the chairman often wi hout a word of thanks. Mr J. W. Neate seconded the resolution, adding that he appreciated the amount of work Mrs Parfitt had done for the council. The-clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney was instructed' towrite to Mrs Parfitt and express to her the council’s appreciation.
Mr Parfitt, in expressing appreciation cn behalf of Mrs Parfitt, said that often when he came home after being away all day, as he often was, Mrs Parfitt handed him a Hst of people who had phoned during the day. either ■on county or drainage board affairs.
