WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING. HELD AT COROGLEN INTERESTING LECTURE ON ART There was a fair attendance of members at the May meeting of the Coroglen Women’s Institute. The guest of honour was Mi* A. Watkins, of Whitianga, whose father was the well-known New Zealand artist. Mr Watkins’ talk on art was most interesting and the display of wa er colours done by his father, delightful. One in particular of Lake Tarawera was unique as of course the lake disappeared after i the terrible eruption.
It was decided to ask the Mercury Bay sp.nning circle to visit the institute in June as many members were very keen to get started on this old handicraft. Remits for the conference were discussed and the delegate instmctd to vote according. l y.
