TURUA FAREWELL
PRESENTATION TO SOLDIER PTE. G. PRATT HONOURED To farewell - Pte. G. Pratt,' who has resided in the district for some time and was home on leave from camp a dance was held in the Turua Hall on Friday, May 21. Mr H. Hicks on behalf of the citizens of Turua presented Pte. Pratt with a cheque and wished 'him Godspeed and.a safe return. He said he felt sure he would carry on with the good work that was being done by the boys away.
Pte. Pratt, replying, thanked the people for the very pleasant evening and good wishes tendered to him. Music was supplied by Mr Dan. Fisher’s Orchestra.
Mrs T. Clark played a snappy jazz extra. Mr Sutcliffe of Thames % gave a cornet solo which was received with much applause. Mr and Mrs J. Marceau were the winners of the Monte Carlo. Mr J. Pye was M.C.
