KEEN DEMAND FROM FARMERS PRICE' paid at clearing sale That gumboots are scarce and that most fanners are desperate in their attempts to secure footwear for the coming spring was proved at a recent clearing sale held at Hikutaia when a pair put up for auction' brought £4 5s Od. The owner who had been wearing the gumboots throughout the sale suddenly realised that he would not require the gumboots in his retirement in Auckland and therefore offered them to the auctioneer to sell. The bidding was particularly keen thei high price of £4 5s being eventually offered for the gumboots.
