KOPUARAHI INSTITUTE ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the Kopuarahi Women’s Institute was held at Mrs J. Bowen’s residence recently when the following officers for the ensuing year were elected: President, Miss B. White; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hudson and Fargher; secretary, Mrs B. Heenan; treasurer, Mrs Hudson; committee, Mesdames J. Bqwen, Fargher, Miss Hale and Miss Hudson. A large parcel of knitting for the merchant navy was on view. Articles included: Eight scarves, four polo jerseys, 17 balaclavas, three pairs of socks, four pairs of gloves. This is the second shich parcel to be forwarded to the. men of the merchant navy from the Kopuarahi Women’s Institute members and friends. A social half-hour followed the business when Miss Hudson won the competition. After afternon tea, the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mrs Bowen, and the singing of the National Anthem.
