BACK FROM ITALY
L.-CORPORAL J. C. SILCOCK PAEROA BOY REACHES EGYPT Captured at Sidi Rezegh some 18 months ago, Lance-Corporal J. C. -Silcock, the younger son of Mr and, Mrs J. W. Silcock, of Waitoki and formerly of Paeroa, is- reported to have been repatriated from Italy andis now safe and well in Egypt. Born in Paeroa, Lance-Corporal Silcock was educated at the Paeroa District High School, later entering the teaching profession, being stationed at Paeroa and at the ‘Tiroa School near Mangapehi. While in Paeroa Lance-Corporal Silcock was a keen footballer and represented Paeroa, the Thames Valley and King Country. While with the Armed Forces he was chosen to represent New Zealand in a .match played in India. He was married to Miss L. Vincent, of Otorohanga, shortly before he went overseas. Mrs Silcock, junr., is a member of the Armed Forces stationed in 4he Waikato. While in captivity Lance-Corporal Silcock served in a hospital in Italy.
