APPRECIATION OF WORK RESIGNATION OF COUNCILLOR At the May meeting of the Thames County Council, a letter was received- from Cr. J. IVilliamson- (Taiiua), who stated that, owing to military duties, he found it necessary to send in his resignation from the council. Mr Williamson stated that he had .been a member of the council for the past 11 years, and it was. with deep regret that he had to take -such action. , The chairman said the council had no option but to accept the resignation. “Cr. Williamson,” he said, “has always worked hard in the interests of the ratepayers. He has always taken a fair view of county matters in general.” . , Mr Courtney moved that the resignation -be accepted with regret, and that a letter expressing the county’s appreciation of his services, and wishing him every success in the future, be sent to Mr Williamson.
