“YOU BELONG TO ME”

MERRY MARITAL COMEDY PROGRAMME AT REGENT CLEVER, SNAPPY DIALOGUE One of the most hilarious teams produced by Hollywood in recent years was that of. talented Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda. “You Belong To Me,” Wesley Ruggles’ new production which will show at the Regent Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, stars this' delightful couple. Said to possess all and more of the fast tempo and breezy atmosphere which distinguished their most recent comedy, “Lady Eve,” this new film has been praised as a “natural” for the exceptional talent of the players. It seems fairly certain that Columbia’s “You Belong To Me” is heading for the kind of audience which make such other hits as the “Awful Truth,”. “Mr Deeds Goes To Town” and “Here Comes Mr Jordan” classic screen comedies. •

Miss Stanwyck plays the part of a young woman doctor who, although seriously absorbed in her practice, becomes the bride of handsome young socialite Henry Fonda. Madly in love with his wife, Mr Fonda is sufficiently understanding to recognise why his bride won’t stay for breakfast . . - but he fails to carry that understanding into practice—his wife’s practice. • He wants to know, for example, why. her patients all seem to be handsome young men, and he becomes inordinately jealous when he discovers the town’s most attractive young men saying “ah” to his lovely wife. The popular stars leave no doubt as to their comic capabilities, outdo themselves as the love-at-first-fight lovers of “You Belong To Me.” A particularly strong cast of supporting players includes Edgar Buchanan, Roger Clark, Ruth Donnelly and Melville Cooper. FINALLY TO-NIGHT “ QUIET WEDDING ” “Quiet Wedding” will show finally to-night at the Regent Theatre.
