A GOOD CROP

PROBLEM OF MARKETING WAITAKARURU PUMPKINS TO EASE VEGETABLE SHORTAGE How to market a large crop of pumpkins which he had grown at Waitakaruru in response to the appeal issued by the Thames District Council of Primary Production was referred to the May meeting of the council by Mi’ Donaldson, of Waitakaruru. The secretary, Mr J. E. Green, reported to the meeting that he had received advice from Mr Donaldson of Waitakaruru that he had on the advice of the council last spring, sown an area of pumpkins and had now a good crop estimated to yield 10 tons and asked the help of the council to market these to the best advantage. It was resolved that Mr Donaldson be written to advising him to communicate with the vegetable auctioneers in Auckland and that the secretary make enquiries on Mr Donaldson’s behalf also.
