CLEARING SALE AT MATATOKI SUNDRIES keenly sought Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that a clearing sale held at Matatoki on Thursday last attracted a large attendance of buyers from surrounding districts and a total clearance was effected at satisfactory
prices. The herd came forward in good condition and young sound cows due early elicited keen competition. Older cows also sold well. The top price of £lO 15s was paid for a typical animal and young cows of quality all topped £lO or over. Older cows of quplity sold from £8 2s 6d to £9 7s 6d and others from £6 7s 6d to £7 17s 6d. The two-year-old heifers were, well conditioned though small. Heifers showing forward scfld at £8; more backward, to £6 10s; small and backward, to £5; cows with calves, to £5
17s 6d; forward conditioned empty cows, £4 J 10s; boners, £2 17s 6d to £3 19s.
Sundries sold under very keen competition, some articles now unprocurable selling well in the venwor’s favour.
