PAEROA RUGBY UNI6N
KOMATA CLUB’S PROTEST PUBLIC NOT PAYING ADMISSION (From the Hauraki Plains Gazette of May 7, 1923.) The weekly meeting of the' Paeroa Rugby Union was held on Tuesday. Present, Messrs H. M. Shand, G. Potter, B. Neil, G. Jenkinson, W. Power, E. Moore, P. Vuglar and the secretary. An apology was received from the chairman, Mr J. Walmsley. A letter was received from the Komata Club stating that unfinancial members of that Club were playing for another club. It. was decided to suspend those players
until arrears of subscriptions were paid. Permission was given for a third-grade team from Thames to play a Paeroa team on Saturday week. The third grade selector was instructed to arrange a Paeroa team. Mr R. Chamberlin was appointed senior selector. The gatekeeper complained that last ■ year many of the public passed through the gates as players. It was decided that this year the selector or captain of each team be provided with 18 tickets whereby he could let his team into the ground, no players to be admitted free without a ticket. Tickets will be in the custody of the gatekeeper.
