PAEROA FAREWELL

TPR. CHAMBERLAIN HONOURED PRESENTATION FROM FRIENDS A very pleasant evening was spent recently at the residence of Mr and Mrs W. Chamberlain, Junction road, Paeroa, to bid farewell to their son, “Major,” who was home on leave from the Armed Forces.

Community singing and musical items were enjoyed by all, the pianists being Mrs Daulton and Mrs A. Fisher.

During the evening Mr 8. Wilks, on behalf of all friends gathered, presented Major with an envelope containing money and in a few wellchosen words wished the guest of the evening good luck and prosperity and a safe return.

After a very dainty supper the evening was brought to a close by singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Felt low” and “Auld Lang Syne.”
