KITCHEN EVENING
FUNCTION AT COROMANDEL
MISS E. BELL HONOURED A very .pleasafit evening was spent by Girl Guides, parents and friends at Coromandel on April 8. The function took the form of a kitchen evening in honour of the Guide Captain, Miss E. Bell, who is shortly to be married.
Everyone was welcomed by the girls with a welcome song after which many interesting games were played and enjoyed by all. A dainty supper was served by the committee and girls.
After supper the leaders, Miss Russell and Miss Benham, called upon Miss Bell and presented her with the many parcels which had been brought by the girls, committee and other friends and wished her all the best of wishes for the future.
Miss Bell and her future brother-in-law then opened the parcels and read the cards, Miss Bell thanking the donors each time. After all had been opened she thanked the people for coming and according her such a nice evening.
“For She’s A Jolly Good Fellow,” was then sung, also “Auld Lang Syne.” The evening was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
The Guides are losing a favourite leader but are fortunate in having two capable people like Miss Russell and Miss Benham to carry on.
