PRETTY WEDDING

O’LOUGHLIN—-CLEMENTS BRIDE IN NET SILK GOWN .St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Te Aroha, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, March 31, when Sergeant 'Charles Neil (Buster). O’Loughlin, R.N.Z.A.F. (and recently returned from overseas), elder son of Mr and Mrs_G. N. O’Loughlin, of Paeroa, was married to Miss Roma Dorothy Clements, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. G. Clements, of Te Aroha. Canon C. W. Turner officiated at the ceremony and Mrs Burt was the organist. Escorted by her brother, Mr Marcus Clements, the bride entered the' church wearing a beautiful model gown of silk net, hand appliqued with lace and worn over ivory slipper satin. Featuring a fitting bodice, the full swing skirt fell in soft folds and swept into a long train. A crown of orange blossoms held in place the beautiful embroidered veil and she carried a shower bouquet -of dahlias, chiffon daisies, rosebuds and maidenhair fem. Gracious frocks of ice blue taffeta were chosen for the attendants, Mrs Gloria M. Firth, twin sister of the bride, as matron of honour, and Miss Mavis E. Herring, as bridesmaid. Both frocks were fashioned alike with high puff sleeves and bouffant skirts. Shoulder-length silk veils finished with sprays of orchids were worn on their heads and shower bouquets . in autumn tints completed a charming

picture. Private V. G. O’Loughlin, Dental Corps, R.N.Z.A.F., attended his brother as best man and Mr R. Elvidge assisted as groomsman.

At the Domain Dining Rooms where the reception was held the guests were received by Mrs Clements assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, the former wearing a smart grey suit, hat and accessories and a blue shoulder spray. Mrs O’Loughlin wore a grey and blue striped tailored costume with navy accessories and a lemon shoulder spray.
