HIGH SCHOOL CRICKET THAMES WINS BY AN INNINGS A feature of the’ recent cricket match, in which the Thames High School beat Paeroa High School, was the century hit up by E. Kerby for Thames. This is the first century of the season scored at Thames this year. In all, Kerby scored 10'9’ runs, comprising three sixes, 13 fours, 10 .twos' and the rest singles. Thames batted first and hit up a total of 171 runs, the double figure scorers being Marshall 28, Campbell 17 and Kerby.

For Paeroa, Smeath tossed the best ball, taking five wickets for 25 runs in 10 overs. Oldham took three for 46.

Paeroa had two innings. In the first they made 58 runs, the highest scorers being Kere 21, Smeath 12 and Finlay 10. In this the Thames bowlers were: Campbell 2 for 5, Kipa four for 10, Brien one for 4 and Reddish 1 for 8.

In their second innings Paeroa scored only 18 runs. In this session, Brien took three wickets for three runs and Cox bowled the same average.
