WIN FOR PAEROA
EASTER BOWLING AT THAMES
WEEK-END TOURNAMENT
Foui' teams from the Paeroa Bowling Club competed at the Easter tournament held at Thames, Messrs E. Faulkner, W. E. Westlake, C. C. Webb and T. L. Williams (s.), proving the winners defeating Epsom in the final by 23 points to 18. Other Paeroa teams comprised Messrs W. Morrison, L. Landman, H. M. Shand and W. W. Taylor (s.); Messrs G. Masters, E. W. Chisholm, W. Pirie and A. Plummer (s.); and Messrs IV. F. Johnstone, R. VThrting, A. Lindsay and J. Pinder (s.). In section play Williams had seven wins and one loss, Plummer six wins and two losses, Taylor four wins and four losses and Pinder four wins and four losses. In post section play Williams defeated Waihi and Epsom, the latter being a keenly contested game and when the bell rang for time the scores were even and an extra head was played which Williams killed when lying shot down and gained the verdict on the next head. In the final game Paeroa defeated Thames by 23 points to 18.
