LICENSE REFUSED
KODASCOPE FOR SCHOOL DECISION OF THE CUSTOMS PROBLEM FOR THE COMMITTEE Disappointment was expressed at Monday night’s meeting of the Paeroa District High School Committee when advice was received from the Collector of Customs that the committee had been refused an import license to purchase a Kodascope valued at £l7O from the U.S.A.
The Collector of Customs. Auckland, wrote as under:—
“I am instructed by the Comptroller of Customs to inform you that it is regretted that a license cannot be granted to your committee foy the importation of a Kodascope valued at £l7O from the U.S.A.
“It is understood that at present supplies are . not available.” It was decided to place the whole matter before Kodak Ltd., asking what further steps . the committee could take to procure a suitable machine.
