BIG CROWD AT NGATEA

VEIRY SUCCESSFUL EVENING

The second Victory Ball to be held this year in the Ngatea iPublic Hall proved just as successful as the first. The representative crowd of dancers who were present on Wednesday night, displayed their keen enjoyment of the latest foxtrots, rendered in fine style by George Jennings and his Paeroa Melody Makers, who were popular choice for the evening’s entertainment.

Vocal interludes by members of the band, and Miss Y. Hegh, of Miranda, added to the pleasure of those present, “Jingle Jangle Jingle” pnd “What More Gan I Say?” being first favourites.

Miss Pat Johnson provided the “extra,” and Miss Nola Sherlock and Mr Des. Wallis were the winners of a Monte Carlo waltz competition.

A dainty supper was provided by members of the Hall and Patriotic Committees.

Mr J. W. Neate carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual able manner.
