PLAINS HOME GUARDSMEN EXERCISES DURING WEEK-END A battalion of Home Guardsmen drawn from the Hauraki 'Plains area spent the week-end in camp at Waitakaruru and conducted advanced draining from their base; Some of the men with farm responsibilities had to return in the evenings for milking, but, notwithstanding such difficulties, the camp and the exercises proved extremely valuable.
