HIKUTAIA FAMILIES UNITE MORRISON—MILLER CEREMONY AT ST. ANDREW’S The marriage of two well-known Hikutaia families took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Paeroa, recently when Miss Eunice Mene Miller, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Miller, of 'Hikutaia, was married to Private William Harold Morrison, 2nd N.Z.E.F., youngest son of Mr W. K. Morrison and the late Mrs Clara Morrison, of Hikutaia. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of dusky pink French crepe fashioned with a gored skirt. The bodice was smocked in front with bugle beads and the sleeves were long and fitting. Her halo hat and accessories were of navy and she carried a bouquet of cream charm dahlias with touches of lavender and maiden-hair fern.

Attending the bride was her sister, Miss June Miller, of Auckland, who wore a smart French grey uncrushable crepe frock featuring a pin-tucked yoke, diamante trimming and short sleeves. With this she wore a black felt picture hat and black accessories and carried a bouquet of cherry shaded charm dahlias and maiden-hair fern.

Mr R. Miller, of Hikutaia, brother of the bride, was best man. Asters and zinnias decorated the church which had been tastefully arranged by friends of the bride. Rev. T. A. Speer, of Waihi, performed the ceremony, while Mrs W. E. Tubman presided at the organ. At the reception held afterwards at the Victoria Tea Rooms, Paeroa. Mrs Miller received her guests wearing a frock of deep wine faille relieved with smocking in dove grey. Her hat and accessories were of grey and she wore a shoulder spray of rose pink carnations and maiden-hair fern. Mrs W. K. Morrison, step-mother of- the bridegroom, was attired in a model frock of Egyptian brown moracain with nigger hat and accessories and fox furs and wore a shoulder spray of scarlet gladioli, sweet peas and maiden-hair fern.

Mrs Henderson, grandmother' of the bride, wore a burgundy floral sheer frock with fox furs and black accessories, and Mrs A. Wicks, sister of the bridegroom, wore a navy ensemble with navy accessories. When the bride and bridegroom left later the bride' was wearing a model frock of harvest brown crepe trimmed with orange applique on pockets and yoke, small brown felt hat with veil, brown accessories and fox fur cape. DANCE FOR GUESTS EVENING AT HIKUTAIA A most enjoyable dance and euchre party was held on Friday evening, March 12, in the Hikutaia Hall when Mr and Mrs J. Miller, of Hikutaia, entertained a large number of guests in honour of the marriage of their daughter, Eunice, to Pte. W. Morrison.

The bride and bridegroom were born in Hikutaia and have lived there most of their lives, both being members of very well-known and popular families and congratulations came thick and fast when they entered the hall during- the evening. The bride was prominent in basketball. circles, both in Hikutaia and Paeroa, having been an outstanding player for Hikutaia in the inter-club matches and has represented. Paeroa on a number of occasions, while Pte. Morrison was a well-known wing three-quarter for the Hikutaia senior rugby team for some years.

Popular music was well rendered by the New Collegians Orchestra and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr J. Bell. A Monte Carlo dance was won by the bridegrooms, Pte. W. Morrison and his sister, Mrs A. Wicks.

A bounteous supper was served and dancing continued until a late hour when all present joined hands and heartily sang “Auld Lang Syne.” Those present included: Mrs W. H. Morrison (the bride) wore leaf green moire taffeta and fur cape; Mrs J. Miller wore ivory, figured satin and black coatee; Mrs A. Wicks (Thames) wore ivory taffeta laced with ice blue; Mrs W. K.
