GOLDEN STATE HONEY.
NEWLY FORMED COMPANY. STATUTORY MEETING. The statutory meeting of the recently formed Golden State Honey Co., Ltd., was held in the company’s office, Railway Street, yesterday, and was attended by-a representative gathering of shareholders. The meeting was presided ovei' by the chairman of directors, Mr W. D. Nicholas. In a statutory report presented it was shown that 3550 shares had been allotted, while to date £770 had been expended on the purchase of bees in addition to those taken over from the old company. At a meeting of the directors following the statutory meeting a very favourable report was given on the company’s nine apiaries by Mr Gooding, the manager. It was confidently expected that at a low estimate the production of honey would exceed £l5OO for the first year. A large proportion of this coming season’s crop had already been sold at a very satisfactory price. The matter of purchasing further bees now under offer to the company was left in the hands of the chairman to be dealt with. The directors were complimented on securing suitable premises as a factory. The applications for several small parcels of shares were dealt with.
