A NGATEA ESSAYIST.
WINS DOMINION COMPETITION. FAMILY’S SECOND SUCCESS. Miss Alice May Foster, daughter of Mr C. S. Foster, of Ngatea, and a pupil of the primary department of the Ngatea District High School, has been successful in winning a Domin-ion-wide essay competition organised by the Wellington Navy League. Miss Foster entered for the girls’ junior section, for which the subject of the essay was “Captain Cook and his Voyages,” and her success is the more meritorious when it is realised that the entries this year were larger than ever before. This is the second time that a member of the Foster family and a pupil of the Ngatea school has won this competition. Last year, in the boys senior section, Master Percy Foster was the prize-winner.
