RECORD STOCK SALE.

PAEROA’S PREMIER POSITION. BEST YARDING OF STOCK. The volume of business transacted at the last two stock sales conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., at the Paeroa yards constitute records and prove that Paeroa now holds) the biggest stock sales in the Thames Valley north of Morrinsville. This in itself is no great achievem'ent, but it disproves the assertions that a stock sale at Paeroa was not warranted. The farmers’ company is therefore to be commended for its foresight. Last month’s sale constituted a record for the yards, but Monday’s business eclipsed it by over £7OO. There was practically a full clearance under the hammer, over 500 head being sold by this means. Steers predominated, and there were over 200 yarded. Prices generally were also very satisfactory in comparison with those ruling at other centres. Prices realised were :— Fat cows £7 to £lO 2s 6d ; store cows, which met with keen demand, £5 to £7 5s ; boners, £2 10s to £5 10s, according to weight. Store steers fetched from £6 10s to £8 12s 6d ; yearling steers from £4 10s to £5 10s ; yearling heifers from £4 10s to £6 5s ; bulls for potting from £4 10s to £9 10s. The advertised herd of dairy cows in milk averaged £9 10s and ranged from £7 to £l3. Good springing heifers sold at from £8 10s to £ll, and backward heifers from £6 10s to £B. NGATEA SALE. There was a full yarding at the Ngatea yards yesterday, when the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., effected a good clearance at prices which were somewhat easier than usual, in sympathy with other centres. Beef cows brought from £6 10s to £B, fat steers io £lO 12s 6d, fresh-conditioned steers £9 ss, store cows £5 to £6 10s, and boners £4 to £5 10s. Yearling steers sold at from £4 10s to £5 10s, yearling heifers 10s less, and potting bulls £5 5s to £9 7s 6d, according to weight.
