CADMAN ROAD.

POWER POLES TO BE MOVED. DRAIN TO BE MADE WIDER. At the meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board yesterday a letter from the Ohinemuri County Council was read asking that four of the board’s poles in Cadman Road be moved from their present position to the other side of the drain or the road. The council wished to widen and batten back the drain on the roadside, and the poles were only 4ft from the edge. The Chairman, Mr F. M. Strange, thought that the request was opening up a fairly big question as to whose liability it was. Mr R. Sprague (manager) stated that it was clearly laid down that the responsibility was the board’s, whereupon the chairman said the board would have to do the work.
