Rather unusual circumstances surrounded a breach of the native game regulations which resulted in William Dixom appearing in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court this week charged with having unlawfully in his; possession six grey ducks. It transpired that he had robbed a duck’s nest of the eggs, and had hatched 'them out. A fine of £2, with 17s costs, was imposed.
