ROLL OF HONOUR.
AUCKLAND MAR MEMORIAL. SUBSCRIPTION LIST OPENED. The Mayor of Paeroa, Mr W. Marshall, has received a telegram from the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association stating that it is compiling a Roll of Honour for the Auckland province for the war memorial at Auckland, and requesting that he assist by opening a subscription list in the district to aid the purpose. The telegram also asked that the names of those who fell in this disctrict be obtained for the Roll of Honour. In compliance with this request the Mayor has opened a subscription list at the Borough Council office, where there will also be a list whereupon to place the names of the fallen. This list will also be used in connection with the local Roll of Honour. The “Hauraki Plains Gazette” inserted a Paeroa Roll of Honour on Armistice Day, prepared from rolls obtained from various churches and schools. Naturally it was not complete, but it was the fullest one compilable under the circumstances. Relatives and friends of the fallen should now come forward so as to make a complete return.
