PAEROA MATCHES. Y.M.C.C. DEFEATS TOWN TEAM. At the Paeroa Domain on Saturday afternoon the Y.M.C.C. team defeated a Paeroa town team by 78 runs. The Paeroa eleven batted first, making 44 runs (Fox 23 not out). Barclay took 5 wickets for 14 runs, Mayo 2 for 19, Arnold 1 for 2, and K. Curtis 1 for 1. The Y.M.C.C. team replied with 122 runs (Mayo 39 not out, N. Curtis 25, Arnold 19, and Nicholls 16)). Goldsworthy took 4 wickets for 11 runs, Stack 2 for 30, and Rolton 2 for 19. PRIMARY SCHOOL GAME. PAEROA DEFEATS NETHERTON. At the Paeroa Domain on Saturday morning the Paeroa second eleven defeated Netherton by 21 runs on the first innings. Netherton went in first and made 11 runs. N. Stevens took 4 wickets for 3 runs, S. Stevens 4 for 2, and I. Neil 2 for 5. The Paeroa team replied with 32 runs. L. Arnold took 7 wickets for 4 runs, Fulton 1 for 4, and C. Vowles 1 for 8. Netherton’s second innings yielded 73 runs (L. Arnold 53 not out). Stevens took 5 wickets for 15 runs, N. Stevens 2 for 15, I. Neil 1 for 9, and L. Gallagher 2 for 7. HAURAKI PLAINS MATCHES.
