LOCAL ESTIMATES APPROVED.

PAEROA, OHINEMURI, PLAINS.

At the Paeroa Borough Council meeting last evening a circular was read from the No. 2 District Highways Council. Attached was a schedule showing the expenditure provided for on main highways maintenance for the financial year ending March 31, 1930.

In the covering letter it was requested that if it Was proved that any item was not sufficient for the adequate maintenance of any section of a highway until the end of the year stated, the Highways Board should be advised early and an amended estimate forwarded. The board would not pay subsidy exceeding the amount originally applied for and provided for on the schedule unless the board’s approval was obtained before additional expenditure took place.
