BOROUGH WORKS.

OPERATIONS DURING OCTOBER. REPORTS BY COMMITTEES. The following reports on municipal activities during the month were received by the Paeroa Borough Council meeting last night :— FINANCE REPORT. During the month the revenue in the District Fund Account amounted to £1497 8s and the expenditure to £2549 13s 9d. After attached accounts had been passed for payment the debit balance, including advances made to various loan accounts would be £204 19s 9d. The expenditure during the month in the House Sewerage Connections Loan Account amounted to £lO0 —a transfer to the District Fund Account Payment of this was passed. The respective positions of the various loan accounts were given as follows : House Sewerage Connections Loan Account, debit, £167 14s lid ; Water Improvements Loan Account, credit, £3O 12s 7d ; Sewerage Loan Account, debit, £129 4s 5d ; Street Improvements Loan Account, credit, £2l 0s Bd. sWORKS COMMITTEE’S REPORT. “Maintenance has been attended to during the month. This includes the regular work in connection with the sewerage system, which is now kept in proper order. “The reconstruction of the Old Te Aroha Road has been completed, and a good job has been made of it. Work on Fraser Street and the hospital entrance roads, and also the road up Primrose Hill, has been suspended owing to weather conditions being unfavourable for rolling and bituminising. The ground work, except planting, at the hospital has been completed, and the fences are well in hand. The filling and formation on Primrose Hill is almost completed, and the work of erecting the cenotaph is now in hand. “Approximately 500 cubic yards of metal has been broken and stacked at the quarry for use on Station Road, and the work in the quarry will shortly be completed.”
