HIKUTAIA. ALLEY MEMORIAL PARK. A meeting of the executive of the Alley Memorial Park was held in the pavilion on Monday evening, Mr E. Elliot, president, presiding. The work of improving the grounds, painting the pavilion, etc., has been completed, and there should be little further expense this season. The financial position of the society was stated to be quite sound. In connection with night play, it was hoped to commence play on the bowling green on Wednesday next, when it was expected that the floodlights would be connected up again. KAIHERE. SOCIAL AND* DANCE. The Kaihere Tennis Club held a dance in the Kaihere Hall last Thursday evening, but the attendance was not large and the proceeds just covered the expenses. The music was by the Dixie Boys’ Orchestra, and thorough arrangements had been made to ensure that dancers would have an enjoyable time, so it was unfortunate that the weather was so bad.
