HOVEN IN COWS.
MANY FATAL CASES. GRAZING ON WET CLOVER. As a result of the rapid growth of pasture on the Hauraki Plains crops of white clover have become very thick in paddocks which have not been fed off for a few days, and in the Turua district many cows have been blown through being allowed into such paddocks while the clover was wet from the night’s rain. Quite a number of cows have died. In many instances the cows had only been grazing on the clover for half an hour or so,'and the rapidity in which they have become blown has surprised many farmers.
