MOTOR-CAR COLLISION

ACCIDENT ON WAIHI ROAD.

ONE DRIVER FINED £lO,

On Saturday afternoon, near Tarariki Creek and just before Sorensen’s Flatt along the Waihi-Paeroa road, a brand new Whippet sedan six, proceeding towards Waihi, and a Ford from the opposite direction came into collision.

The Whippet had a mudguard and wheel damaged and the front axle broken. The occupants of either car were not hurt.

As a sequel to the accident the driver of one of the cars appeared in the local court on Monday morning charged with being in a state of intoxication. Messrs W. F. Johnstone and W. F. North, J’s.P., were on the bench. Accused was convicted and fined £lO, the justices ordering the suppression of his name.
