ANNUAL MEETING ON PLAINS. DRAW FOR THE SEASON. The Hauraki Plains Cricket Association held its annual meeting at Ngatea on Friday evening, Mr H. L. Berney presiding over Messrs J. Darlington and P. Foster, Ngatea ; West and G. Jenkins, Turua ; H. Dare, Kaihere ; C. Stretton, Waitakaruru; J. O’Carroll, E. Gill, and A. McMillan, Kopuarahi; and A. McAulay and F. Wallis (secretary), Pipiroa. Annual Report. The annual report stated that in many respects the past season had been very successful and quite interesting. The club competitions went off smoothly, and it was noticed that all matches were played in a true, sportsmanlike manner. It had been possible to arrange only one representative match, and in this connection a recommendation was made that efforts be made early in the season to arrange inter-association matches. All other associations arranged their season’s programmes early in the season. The two-day matches proved to be very popular, and a recommendation to continue the system was made. Thanks were expressed to the officers and to those ladies who had assisted in providing refreshments. Balance-sheet. The balance-sheet showed that the credit balance brought forward from the previous season was £9 10s lOd ; there were no receipts, and £1 Ils was the expenditure, leaving a credit balance of £7 19s lOd. All clubs owed affiliation fees for the past season, and the Piipiroa Club owed for four seasons. Officers. The following officers were elected : Patron, Mr A. W. Hall, M.P.; president, Mr H. L. Berney ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. G; Miller, H. Dent, C. S. Foster, and F. Rogers ; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. O’Carroll; auditor, Mr S. W. Rolfe ; selector, Mr J. G. Miller; wet weather committee, Messrs F. Wallis, J. G. Miller, and N. Boyne ; delegates to Thames-Hauraki Association, Messrs H. L. Berney, J. O’Carroll, N. Boyne, and F. Wallis. The retiring officers were accorded a vote of thanks, particular reference being made to the work of Mr F. L. Wallis during the four years he had held the secretaryship. Representative Matches. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange matches with neighbouring associations. Method of Selection. Mr C. Stretton advocated using the same system of selecting representative teams as that in force last season. Under this system club captains selected a representative team and submitted their teams to a sole selectoi* as a guidance to him. This was decided upon. Time of Play. It was agreed that matches start at 11 a.m. and that stumps be drawn at 3.30 p.m. Any team arriving late might be required to play on if the opposing team so desired. Opening of Season. The first of the competition matches was set down for play on Saturday next, November 2. Number of Rounds. One round of two-day matches and a round of one-day matches, as played last season, was adopted. The Draw. The draw resulted as follows November 2 : Pipiroa at Tuura, Kaihere at Waitakaruru, Ngatea at Kopuarahi. Second series : Kaihere at Pipiroa, Turua at Ngatea, Waitakaruru at Kopuarahi. Third series: Pipiroa at Waitakaruru, Kopuarahi at Turua, Ngatea at Kaihere. Fourth series : Ngatea at Pipiroa, Turua at Waitakaruru, Kopuarahi at Kaihere.
