VALEDICTORY.
MR C. BLACKLAWS FAREWELLED POPULAR TURUA MAN.Advantage was taken by the people of Turua of a Plunket. Society queen carnival dance in the Tuura Hall last Thursday evening to bid farewell to Mr Cyril Blacklaws, who left on Saturday to join his brother in Australia. In presenting to the guest a cheque and a leather travelling bag on behalf of the people of the district Mr C. Scott said that during the six years Mr Blacklaws had been in Turua he had won his way into the hearts of all the people. The size of the gathering testified to his popularity. Mr Blaeklaws was also presented with a travelling rug by his football team-mates.
