EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
RACE MEETING SANCTIONED.
OHINEMURI CLUB’S PROPOSAL.
In August the Ohinemuri Jockey Club considered a proposal that it should hold a race meeting, the net profits.of which would be donated to the Earthquake Relief Fund. After discussion it was left to the chairman and secretary to go into details and carry out the necessary preliminary arrangemnts. The club has now received permission from the Ministei’ of Internal Affairs to hold a meeting at Paeroa in May. The club has suggested May 24 as the most suitable date, but the approval of the N.Z. Racing Conference has to be obtained first. This, however, it is confidently expected, will be granted.
