JESNEY SHIELD MATCH.

NETHERTON RETAINS TROPHY

The Paeroa Loyal Jubilee Lodge of Oddfellows team travelled to Netherton on Saturday to play the Netherton Lodge (holders) in a challenge match for the Jesney Shield. The weather was rather trying for a sustained game, but a very interesting and enjoyable match was played despite that fact. Netherton won by 10 points to 3. For the winners B. McNeil scored a try which was converted by H. Wright, and Wright scored and converted his own try. For Paeroa Nealie secured the three points with a try.

The Netherton team, which has held the shield for three years, is scheduled to play the Waikino Lodge fifteen on Saturday next.
