PAEROA AERODROME.

COMMITTEE APPOINTED.

QUESTION OF GRANT.

At the Borough Council meeting last evening the Mayor, Mr W. Marshall, stated that there was no question that in the event of a chain of landing grounds for aeroplanes Paeroa would figure importantly as an aerodrome en route to East Coast towns. At present, on account of the ratepayers, the council was not prepared to rush the question, but preliminary investigations should be carried out.

It was decided that a sub-committee consisting of the Mayor, the deputyMayor (Cr. E. Edwards), and Cr. P. E. Brenan be appointed to go into the subject and report when they had anything definite to recommend. It was the general opinion of the meeting that a reasonably valued ground should be found as quickly as possible, as soon the town would be forced to find one.
