HAURAKI PLAINS CLUB.
The Hauraki Plains Veterinary Club met at Ngatea on Wednesday evening, Mr C. W. Schultz presiding over Messrs. W. Clark, R. Burke, B. Andrews, W. Jones, G. Phillips, C. Vagg and C. A. Gibson (secretay). Mr W. Clark was appointed to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the resignation of Mr W. McCarthy. It was agreed that Mrs Costello be paid £3 a week from May 20 to Jn'y 31, for dispensing while the club was without a surgeon.
The secretary was instructed to have the club’s telephone number (No. ■7) transferred to Mr Aris’ residence. The surgeon, Mr T. A. Aris, reported having made 98 visits to 59 members during the month of August. Most of the cases were calving trouble, milk fever, paralysis after calving, inflamed, udders or garget. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of appreciation to Mr N. Burke thanking him for making his house available for tfic surgeon at short notice.
