Public Notices. NOTICE MAKING AND LEVYING RATES UNDER THE HAURAKI PLAINS ACT, 1926. Department of Lands & Survey, Wellington, 16th August, 1929. I, GEORGE William Forbes, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated pursuant to that Act a rate for the year ending on 31st March, 1930, on a graduated scale, as specified in the Schedule hereto, according to the classification of the land. The said rate will be payable in one sum on the 13th day of September, 1929, to the Collector of Rates for the Hauraki Plains Rating District, at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book will be open for inspection. A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Kerepeehi at all times at which that office is open for the transaction of public business. SCHEDULE. CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, fourpence and sixty-two onehundredths of a penny in the pound. CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, twopence and sixtyfour one hundredths of a penny in the pound. CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, sixty-six one hundredths of a penny in the pound. • GEO. W. JN accordance with Section 64 of the Rating Act, 1925, ratepayers within the district constituted under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, are hereby notified that a rebate of 5% (five per centum) on the current year’s rates will be granted, provided all rates owing are paid within thirty days from the date of the demand. TENDERS will be received by the District Engineer, Public Works Department, Auckland, until noon on Tuesday, 24th September, 1929, for alterations to the above Departmental Cottage at Kopu, specifications for which may be seen at Public Works Office, Auckland and Paeroa.
