NGATEA. . . < HALL SOCIETY. The committee of the Ngatea Public Hall Society held its monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, Mr G. Phillips presiding over Messrs C. S. Foster, W. Wylde, S. Phillips, and S. Traver, secretary. The tenancy of the stall was cancelled for breach of agreement, and it was decided to have the building renovated, and to call tenders for its

leasing. The financial statement for the month of August showed earnings totalling £l7 9s 7d, and expenditure, including a proportion of the annual charges, £l2 7s. The bank overdraft stood at £l9 19s 9d, sundry debtors owed £lB Is, and accounts due for payment amounted to £l3 14s lOd. Four new lamps had been supplied to replace burnt-out street lights.

It was decided to ask the Power Board to undertake the maintenance of the township street lights.
