HIKUTAIA. PERSONAL. Miss Edna Hanlen is at present in the Auckland Hospital Mrs Underwood, of Lower Hutt, is spending a brief holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs Hanlen. Mrs L. A. Robinson has received cable word that her daughter, Mrs Parkinson, has left England en route to New Zealand. KITCHEN EVENING. On Wednesday evening, August 28, residents of Hikutaia gave a kitchen party to Miss Gladys Bax, of Wharepoa, on the eve of her approaching marriage to Mr Eddie Morrison. Miss Bax was the recipient of many useful presents. Mr Morrison thanked those present for their kindness. Voluntary music was supplied by the Sports Five orchestra from Paeroa. Mrs W. Smith won the men’s prize and Mrs Duncan the ladies’ prize. Mr S. Smith acted as M.C.
