ODDFELLOWSHIP.

LOYAL JUBILEE LODGE. VISIT BY GRAND MASTER. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Jubilee Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held in the Returned Soldiers’ Club, Paeroa, last evening. The N.G.. Sister M. Bertelsen, presided over a good attendance of members and a good sprinkling of visitors from adjacent lodges, including Waihi, Waikino, Netherton, Kerepeehi, and Te Aroha. The occasion was the visit of the District Grand Master, Bro. F. Best, of Hamilton. Lodge business was quickly dispensed with, and the company adjourned for supper. Toasts were honoured and interspersed with items by Sisters and Brothers of the local lodge. The first toast, that of “The King,” was proposed by Sister M. Bertelsen, and was drunk with musical honours. A wellreceived item by Mrs Scudamore, “Aren’t Men Funny,” followed. The next toast was “The Manchester Unity,” by L.M.P.G. Bro. C. Gwilliam, followed by an item, “Matangi,” by Bro. S. Tukukino- The toast of “The Grand Master,” proposed by Sister M. He .dwelt on the sound financial position and membership of the Manchester Unity. The next items, by Sister North, “To a Miniature” and “Maori Maid,” were deservedly applauded. Bro. Wilkinson proposed the toast of “The Visitors,” after which Sister Bertelsen was heard to advantage in “The Little Irish Girl” and “What a wonderful World it would be.” The toast of “Kindred Societies” (Druids) was proposed by Bro. P. Harold and responded to by Bro. Gallagher, of the Star of Paeroa Druids’ Lodge. Then came the toast of “The Ladies,” proposed by N.G. Bro. McQuillan and responded to by Sister V. Heappey. The Grand Master proposed the toast of “The Jubilee Lodge,” and the proceedings closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and three ringing cheers for the Grand Master. .

A willing band of helpers quickly cleared the room, and the company took the floor to the i rresiistible strains of Mrs Scudamore’s dance music.
