HOCKEY.
o TO-MORROW’S ARRANGEMENTS FANCY PRESS MATCH. The local hockey match to-morrow will be between two teams in fancy dress, one comprising men and one ladies. Mr T. C. Arnold will referee. Following are the ladies’ teams : —
No. 1 Team.—P. Swift, Mrs Otter. G. Finnie, Bellamy, E. Bell, A. Morrison, Hartley, Small, V. Shand, A. O’Neil, F. Pivott. Emergencies : E. Nield, McLeod.
No. 2 Team.—Coman, D. Epps, White, M. Power, B. Gibb, N. femith, R. Swann, R. Gamble, C. Swann, M. O’Neil, D. Smith. Emergencies : V. Charlesworth, Parkinson. The Paeroa ladies’ hockey teams were again unable to fulfil the fixtures as set down for last Saturday s play. Owing to the “big push” arranged in aid of the Paeroa carni val Sports Queen the local girls decided to remain at home and contribute towards the sports programme ny playing a friendly match, Rovers v. Wanderers.
The Hikutaia ladies, however, made their game—Hinemoa v. Pioneers a competition fixture, and the Hinemoa team defeated the Pioneers by a fair margin.
The Paeroa teams will now play the Hikutaia ladies at Hikutaia on Saturday next.
