CORRESPONDENCE.
PRIMARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In a recent issue of your pnper there appeared among the “Notes on Players,” contributed by “Onlooker,” a decidedly adverse criticism of the coaching of the primary school Rugby. While admitting that there are -weaknesses,, I think that a glance at the results of the last round of re presentative matches proves “Onlooker’s” remarks to be quite wrong, and also decidedly unjust to the teachers who devote considerable time to coaching the boys. Here are the results : Seniors : Waihi 11, beat Paeroa 0 ; Juniors, Waihi 8, beat Paeroa 3 ; Third-grade, Te Arolia 6, beat Paeroa 3 ; Primary, Paeroa 16, beat Waihi 3. A “wastage of good material,” if any, seems to occur after the lads have left school. The results surely speak for themselves.
ANOTHER ONLOOKER.
